Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from The Brice Family! May you and your family make many wonderful memories this Holiday season! We have no news on the adoption, but I thought I would share some of our favorite moments of this year.

Our Progress

June 7, 2010- Dillon International Application Part 1 Approved

July 19, 2010- Dillon International Application Part 2 Approved

August 25, 2010- Nathanson Adoption Services Home Study Application Approved

September 10, 2010- First Home Study Meeting

September 27, 2010- Second Home Study Meeting

October 13, 2010- Third Home Study Meeting at our home and meeting Brody

November 1, 2010- Home Study Draft Submitted to Dillon International

December 8, 2010- Finalized Home Study Submitted to Dillon International

December 23, 2010- Submitted I-800A (Application for Determination of Suitability to Adopt a Child from a Convention Country) to USCIS.

February 9, 2011- Submitted Dossier to Dillon International.

February 14, 2011-USCIS Biometrics Appointment (fingerprints taken by the FBI).

February 14, 2011- Dossier received by Dillon International. Placed on waiting list for non-NRI families! (#10 on the list)

February 28, 2011- Received I-800a approval notice!

December 30, 2011- Dossier Submitted to CARA in India.

January 19, 2012- Electronically Registered With CARA in India via CARINGS Website (1 of only 100 in the first month of the new system!).

January 20, 2012- Home Study Submitted to CARA in India.

March 2012- Assigned to Orphanage is Orrisa.

March 27, 2013- Asked if we were willing to consider a special needs child from a different orphanage. Said, "Yes."

April 10, 2013- Given specific details on child at orphanage in Pune, India.

April 11, 2013- Consulted family and medical professional about this referral. Verbally accepted referral!!!!

April 12, 2013- Official Dossier sent to orphanage where our new son is located.

April 15, 2013- Official Brice Family Announcement Day!

May 2, 2013- Received Official Referral from orphanage.

May 15, 2013- Received approval from CARA to sign referral after being officially matched with AJ in their system.

May 16, 2013- Filed I-800 with USCIS.

November 12, 2013- Received SARA approval

November 13, 2013- Received Non Objection Certificate (NOC) from CARA

November 19, 2013- Case filed in Pune District Court

December 18, 2013- Hearing in Pune District Court

January 28, 2014- Written Court Order Signed by Judge

February 3, 2014- Received Court Order

February 5, 2014- Passport Application Submitted

March 22, 2014- Passport Received

April 3, 2014- Forever Family Day

April 15, 2014- A.J. is home!!!
